Choosing a window is mostly out of preference. To decide on which film matches your and preferences, you should know the different types of car films. The films come in various tints with distinct features that you can choose in the market today. Dyed
Car tints have polyester layer outside for protection and then it’s adhesive. With this kind of film, it has a dye layer in between the polyester and the adhesive. It’s relatively affordable, offering the darkest effect without eating away your wallet. The film is capable of blocking ultra-violet rays from entering your car to up to fifty percent. Metallic Similar to the dye film, the metallic film also has another layer between the polyester and the adhesive layer. However, instead of dye, its inner layer is chemically-treated that blocks UV light along with a metallic coating on the opposite side that darkens the window as it reflects heat radiation. Additionally, it also has a protective coat to protect the film from abrasions or scratches. Compared to the dye film, the metallic film can block out light up to ninety percent. Hybrid Hybrid tints are a mixture of dyed and metallic films without their weaknesses. It’s a combination of metabolized, adhesive, and dyed layers with an additional topcoat for protection. Laminating adhesives are what binds them together. It can block everything from ultra-violet rays to heat, except fifty percent of light. Ceramic Ceramic tints were recently only discovered, and are found to be exciting breakthroughs regarding window tinting. Instead of a polyester layer, its adhesive layer is merged with ceramic with a top coat for protection. Not only does it block out up to seventy percent of ultra-violet light, but it can also block solar heat with the same percentage and Infrared Heat of up to 97 percent. Crystalline From the name itself, these are crystal clear films that are specifically designed only to block solar heat and ultraviolet rays. Although it may not change your car’s appearance, it can reject more heat compared to darker films. It’s made to deflect the sun’s heat by up to 97 percent, allowing it to produce infrared light. It also blocks sixty percent of the heat that passes through your car’s windows and allows seventy percent of light to enter.
