How To Design A Nursery: The Do's And Don'ts

​Having a baby brings joy to the family. Before the baby arrives, though, you should be prepared for its arrival ahead of time. Deciding which room in your house will be the nursery is one of the first things you should do for your preparation. After you complete this task, you'll be designing the nursery of your soon-to-be newborn. Remember the do's and don'ts in designing a nursery shared below: 

Do’s 

1. Choose a Certain Theme
   If you already know the gender of your baby before it's born, this task should not be hard. If it's a boy, choose a masculine theme for the nursery. Examples of kid masculine themes are "Superman," "Lego Toys," and "Batman." If it's a girl, choose a feminine theme for the baby's room. Examples of kid feminine themes are "Barbie" and "Hello Kitty." 
   
   
2. Choose Textiles Before Painting 
   The last thing you'd want to happen is the nursery's curtains and baby beddings not to match the paint's color in your baby's nursery. Don't be impulsive. It can't hurt to buy the textiles first before painting the walls and ceiling of your baby's room. Textile colors that match the walls and ceiling paint color are attractive to the eyes. 
   
   
3. Decorate the Ceiling of the Nursery 
   Babies spend most of the time lying down on their backs. You wouldn't want your baby stressed out and crying while they are lying down. You should decorate the ceiling of the nursery with soothing colors and designs. Examples of soothing colors are light blue, yellow, and pink. Examples of delicate designs are clouds and rainbows. 

Don'ts 

1. Don't Use Harsh Lighting 
   Babies are fragile due to their young age. So, harsh lighting can scare your baby away. Plus, harsh lighting can make your baby unable to fall asleep.
   
   Install lights that are pleasant to your baby's eyes. If in doubt about where to buy these lights, ask your family and other loved ones what would be best. 
   
   
2. Don't Forget the Night Lights
   Your baby is going to sleep peacefully. If the lights around them are soothing at night. A lamp with semi-dark lighting is one example of such lights. This lamp is also the perfect partner in the nursery during storytelling time.
